Improver class

Our Improver class (Tues at 11.10am or Saturday at 11.00am) follows on from Puppy group but is suitable for any dog at any age and includes a wide range of training exercises including:

  • Lead walking and Recall skills – taking these to a more advanced level
  • Obedience – core skills to develop a well mannered and responsive dog
  • Patience – teaching the dog to have more control over it’s impulses
  • Calm skills – Teaching the dog to be calm around dogs and distractions
  • Trick training – Introducing various trick based behaviours to develop the bond
  • Interactive play – Encouraging you and your dog to play well
  • And many more…

Adolescent

  • Our Adolescent classes focus on building your dogs skills and engagement during this development stage (6months to 36months).
  • When a dog is adolescent their ability to focus diminishes while their frustration and boredom thresholds change.
  • This course aims to build solid skills and help you understand how to get the most from the adolescent dog.
  • You’ll learn how to get the dog focused and engaged, work on core skills such as lead walking and recall. We’ll also help you understand how to build these skills around distractions and help interrupt your dog when they fixate on distractions.

Pet Gundog Training

Pet Gundog Training – If you have a gundog breed (Retriever, Spaniel, HPR or a cross of these), Gundog training aims to help you harness the dog’s breed traits to build the engagement and interaction between dog and handler. We do this using positive reinforcement techniques.

We provide a Gundog foundation level course over 8 weeks which provides the basics, including retrieving, heel walking, recall, steadiness and other aspects too.

Our Gundog Improver course, develops on the foundation level over 8 weeks and especially brings in additional retrieves and more handling to develop your dog’s abilities.

Contact us for more info on these classes.
