About Barnaby

I’ve been working with dogs for over a decade, but like many trainers, my journey began with my own dog.

I grew up surrounded by animals, but everything changed when we brought home Florence—a Patterdale/Labrador cross with a fearful and reactive nature. Helping her meant learning, adapting, and discovering techniques tailored for her unique personality. Watching her transform inspired me to dive deeper into canine behaviour and training.

I also own a Working Line Golden Retriever, Odin, who I have trained to help develop nervous and unconfident dogs. We also love competing in Gundog Working Tests.

Today, my passion is helping owners build stronger, happier relationships with their dogs. Seeing that bond grow—and the positive changes it brings—is incredibly rewarding. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with nearly 1,000 dogs, each with their own story and character.

I am proud to be a fully qualified & accredited member of the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers (IMDT). I am committed to continual learning to provide the latest training approaches to support owners and their dogs using ethical, kind and effective dog training methods. I love working with my customers to help progress their dog’s development. I only use modern, ethical, effective training techniques and will always put your dog's welfare at the heart of everything I do. I am committed to doing my very best for every dog & owner I work with.
